Guys I got a IR sensor with only 2 pins
It has an open base.....wid only emitter n collector...Its TL series
How do i make use of it as an obstacle detctor?
Help ME :D

i have IR LED emitter and TSOP-like receiver. But i have no idea how to poll the reseiver

Dmage, is there any number printed on the "TSOP like" receiver?

first thing...
its not tsop....
tsop has 3 pins....
if its a 2 pin ir receiver...
then its resistance ll change wen it receives ir...
try this out.. measure its resistance inside a room and then outside in sun...
it ll show less value outside...
manifest this into change in voltage and chop off using a comparator..

this is our russian analog of the TSOP receivers - ILMS5360.
i connect it directly to the microcontroller 90s2313.

here is the code. 38646800 is clock, prescaler 1, using PORTD.
PORTD.2 - IR LED, PORTD.3 -> PIND.3 in - from IR Detector, PORTD.4 - red led t o see if the obstscle id detected.

I think itz a photo transistor , the current flows when light is shone on the base

IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER GO FOR IR LED+PHOTO DIODE COMBINATION THAN GOING FOR TSOP
