Those things are really 'handy'.
I use mine mostly while freeforming for my BEAM bots. Got it for Rs.125 some while ago. Its available here in Mumbai at Visha Electronics, Lamington Road.

"Third Hand Tool"...with Magnifying Glass...That was printed on the box.

Go to Jawahar Nagar in north Delhi. I'm not very familiar with the area, but I think its quite close to Ramjas College. You'll find lots of shops selling scientific instruments there. You should definitely find something like this there although it may not exactly be the same.

You can also try Bellstone International in Chawri Bazaar. These guys claim to have over 10000 industrial products in stock. They are pricey though.

Sorry for this shameless plug, but if you really have the cash, scroll down to the bottom to where it says "Stereo - Magnus MS-TIL"...

Its a stereoscopic microscope with bottom+top illumination and gives great magnified images of the object in 3D. Jewelery workers use it for fine soldering.
