hi friends
i m planing to design a gantry crane where i need to need to lift some abjects of 200-300 gms .
i need a good dc 12v motor with a good torque .
i m planning to design every thing from the scrap
could any one suggest me where i can get one from the scrap
thanks for any suggestion

DC motors can be obtained for toys and stuff but they wont be rated to 12V , max may be 9v. Also they wont have a high torque (mostly high rpm type used and are without gearbox or have one outside). Though you can do some PWM control to decrease speed and increase motors torque, or develop some mechanism to do so.
