help me with this guys.

i'm lookin for a 3-6V DC motor with upto 30-40 rpm, reason being i need a large torque at the load end.

any idea what i should use ?

been browsin thru the forums and the references i've found have been to relatively faster motors...

Hi

If I were in your position I would have used a ordinary 3v dc motor with worm gears. This can bring dont the rpm to your desired levels.
Small worm gears are found in almost all toys.

Get hold of some "Made in China" toy tanks in your local market....each of these got a motor with a real cool gearbox...and it's cheap too Rs 60/- onwards

we get those motors in pune..... and the gears are planetary type ( just learnt that from my friend todat :D) .. so they dont take much space (as worm gears might) and the gearing is easy to change...

where u from?... if u know someone from pune ask them to get it.. i guess i'll put up the details of that guy in a week.. planning a trip to him myself..

Yes, the tanks cost Rs 60 & up (depending upon the size) each. A differential drive would require two such tanks i.e. for Rs 120 you get a pretty powerfull four wheel powered base for your bot.

Hope this info helps....

Yep

The tanks are great ... be shore to buy tow :) . And then two good quality motors ... they make a very good diffrential drive base .

worm and worm arrangement is gud.....

and buy decent toys so tat the gears inside shouldn be made up f plastic...
nylon gears r wat u need if u want ur robo to work longer and better.

hey i was suggested on this forum to go for a 30rpm geared motor for my project.
I enquired about the same at bombay electronics (lamington road,Mumbai).
The guy told that the 30rpm DC geared motor would cost around 125 bux and has around 1-2Kg torque.
