Hey

Need some help in figuring out how to calculate distance from an object eg. a wall. My robot is travelling in a corridor and it is required that it must be equidistant from the side walls. My IR circuitry must output distance samples. How does one work this out? My mircocontroller will use this information for error correction...to ensure the robot is midway between the walls.

Any help will be appreciated.

now u can do this in 2 ways

1. power up ur sensors hook it to the mcu and then see wat values it is giving at different distances from the wall through usart

2.keep the ir led at some distance from the wall and check the voltage putput do this at different distances from the wall and check out respective outputs change the voltages into bits as u mcu will interpret then use these values in ur logic
