our professors are amazing, buy anything they like without asking us.

we have got futaba g190, which are basically used in hobby helicopters, and they process servo motor's data somehow... datasheet is not properly written...

so if anybody has used it please help! and if you are buying gyro buy some other gyro which gives data nicely and which has got a good datasheet!

Hi Shreek!

If you are the same guy i think you are (that means you are from Robocon - MIT,Pune), you should try asking the team members of Robocon08 from SIT/SCOE.

They were using Futaba (or some other RC copter gyro) for their machines. As far as i know, these gyros are used directly to connect to the heading servo of the RC copter. So they *should* have a pwm out, similar to the RC servo control signals. Check this out on an oscilloscope.

You ll mostly need a input capture unit on your uC to read this pwm waveform or you could do what the servos do internally, ie integrate this signal to get the analog waveform (not useful though, since you ll again have to convert to digital for the uC).

Do check the output on a scope and POST THE RESULTS!
