@pratik_dhruv: Have you gone through the JRobotics website? If you did, you would find that AVRCam is open source, and the Downloads Page(clickie) (http://www.jrobot.net/Download.html) contains the link to the AVRCam Source Code, with Executable (clickie) (http://www.jrobot.net/Download/AVRcam_rel_1_4.zip).

Regards,

Debu :)

You can try interfacing usb webcam directly to pic32.

I recently tried it. Details are @ http://bytewerx.blogspot.com/

Problem is that you will be limited by SRAM available on most devices to do any serious image processing.

cheers !!!

Although this does not answer your question directly, you can also consider the following two options:

If you do not need very high frame rates, search for a module like the one below:
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=9334

All data is passed through serially, so you do not have to worry about camera capture and compression.

Or
http://surveyor-corporation.stores.yahoo.net/ovlowlicamo.html
You will have to provide camera timing lines. The interface is parallel.

EDIT:
Example of the first one with an Arduino at 640x480
