hello friends,
i have been successfully using a stk200 programmer that i used to program my atmega16 / 32 via parallel port using pony prog. the problem i have encountered that i have recently got a laptop & hence purchased a usb programmer for future use....
the problem i am facing is that i cannot understand how to use avrdude (since pony prog does not support usb) and have tried searching online but have no luck so far....
Could somebody please help me out with this.... anyone who has used avrdude before plz help..... if possible with a step by step instruction on how to install, open n use avrdude.....

try searching for winavr..... it has avrdude combined with many other softwares..... it will also give you complete manual for avrdude.....

search the file avrdude-doc-5.5.pdf
it contains all avrdude instructions and step by step procedure of how to modify the configuration file.....

You have "bought" a USB Programmer and now you have to search here and there for USING IT !

just look for avrdude gui online.. no hassles.. just a simple interface.
