Robovigyan @ Pragyan 09

Pragyan 09, the annual Technical Festival of National Institute Of Technology, Trichy presents Robovigyan, the Robotics Competition. To be held from February 12th, 2009 to February 15th, 2009.

The Robovigyan event comprises of three challenges :

1.Micro Mouse ( The Maze Traversing Mouse Contest )
2.Square Route ( The Line Follower Competition)
3.Slam Dunk ( Robots Playing Basketball )

Micro Mouse :

A Micromouse is an autonomous bot that should be able to traverse to the center of a given labyrinthic maze in the least possible time.
Prize Money : More than INR 50,000/- in cash.
Team: Team may consist of upto 5 participants
(Not necessary to be from the same college).
Rameez Raja ( +91 9941350239 )
Manimaran S ( +91 9486193083 )

Square Route:

Problem Statement :
Design an autonomous bot that navigates a path with rectangular loops and outputs the number of the largest loop.
Team: A maximum of 3 members is allowed per team.
Anusha Balan +91 99440 74182
Aswin Chander +91 94861 32312

Slam Dunk:

Problem Statement :
Each team must build an autonomous bot and a manual bot.
The teams will duel against each other to win matches viz. team A and team B.
Team A has to try putting the ball in the Team B’s basket while Team B prevents Team A from doing so and vice versa.
Team: A team can have up to 4 participants
(Not necessary to be from the same college).

Hi friends,

Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is organizing its Annual Inter Collegiate Techno-Management Festival, KSHITIJ’09 during January 29th-February 1st, 2009. It is the largest Techno-Management fest in Asia.

Video of KSHITIJ '08:-http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=LhDSaTIWHyY

As a part of KSHITIJ, we organize ROBOTIX, the annual robotics competition, which is now the largest of its kind in India.
With the statistics escalating every year, we witnessed a boom last year with more than 2500 participants, 1200 teams, 11 international teams and prizes worth over Rs 2 lakhs.

ROBOTIX extends its legendary story with yet more challenging and brain-storming problem statements this year!

1)Don't overspeed! You could get FramED!-FramED9211 (http://robotix.in/acc_framed)
This is an international level IMAGE PROCESSING competition.
Consider a video of cars passing by one at a time with different speeds.
You need to submit a code to enclose the number plates of the cars which have been reported to be speeding, in a box and relay the plate numbers.

2)Taking Micromouse to the next level- μMouse4D (http://robotix.in/acc_umouse4d)
This year we revist the classic MICROMOUSE problem:- To traverse a maze and reach its centre in the quickest possible time, and add a new dimension to it.
This being an online event, the code for this robot will have to be simulated in Microsoft Robotics Studio. The coder has to edit a function which controls the movement of the bot. The template for all codes will be provided by the AI heads of Robotix.

Our online coding events prove to be some of the most competitive robotics events in the world with teams from MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and other top Universities entering the fray. This is an excellent opportunity to pit your coding skills against some of the best teams in the world.

We look forward to meeting you in January.

Technology Robotix Society,

IIT Kharagpur.
