Hi...

I am using prolific 89V51RD2 kit.
By mistake I gave the 12v to the controller...which made overload to the variable power supply.

Since then even if I give the 12V from the power supply...the kit takes only 6 to 7v.

I took out all the ics on the kit but there is no change in the situation.

Have anybody faced the same problem??

Please tell me if you can have the solution to this.[/img]

what did you mean it "takes" only 6-7 volts??

anyway it sounds (or rather smells) like you smoked the regulator.

No the regulator is working fine. When I left the regulator unconnected or connect it to some other circuit it does its job well.

When I connect the same regulator with the knob set at 12V, to the controller kit, suddenly the vtg drops down to the 7V.

I have taken out all the IC s from the kit & tried to connect power supply then the power supply shows 12V for some time & again falls to 7V

I think some capacitor has got the problem or what do you say??

I was talking about the regulator inside the kit.

The power supply section of the kit, is obviously damaged. I cannot suggest anything since i have no idea what all things are there in the kit, or what all components are there.
