hello everyone,

i have got a ir sensor from some company (CX, dont know correctly) from everest shop delhi. the person said that it can be used for measurement of distance upto 20cm. but the problem is that he told me that i have to make the circuit myself. he told me that the circuit will be similar to the sharp distance measuring sensor.
CX is written on it and k,a,e,c behind each pin.
this is the link of the video of it -----

sharp was very expensive about rs1100 of the 80cm.
please help me and tell me about the circuit.

IR Diode pins
A= Anode
K=Cathode

IR Receiver Pins
C= Collector
E= Emitter

Connection
Out put pin of microcontroller —220 Ohm Resistor – Anode
Gnd--- Cathode

+5 V--- 10 K Resistor—Collector-Receiver pin of micro controller
Gnd—Emitter

Send a high signal on output Pin of microcontroller then with the help of timer you have to calculate the time required to receive the signal on the receiver pin

Distance = (Time/2)*speed of light

Sorry but i dont think u can measure distance with timer
for that you will have to use adc and not the timer.
Its not ultrasonic sensor so that u use timer.
have a look at the following link. You will get an idea.

Hope it will help u.
