use photo diodes , and read the volts from them.

You need to use a ADC from the micro controller depending on the resolution you want, you need to use an external ADC. write a program to calculate the values from the ADC [corresponding to the voltage] depending on the ADC design. and than display it on the LCD.

Dinar has already said about ADC part. An LDR can be another option.You can use output voltage(radiation) of LDR & program the ADC according.Keep updating us on this project an interesting one.
