i bought a Serial Port Based AVR Programmer that looks just like the one sold by extreme electronics , in ritchie street , chennai . but they did not give any cd with it . i dont know the pinouts of it .
i tried to put its picture but i dont know how to do it please help !!
i am a beginner.

As it is not any standard programmer it is not possible to tell about the PIN out

I guess avinash is right. Or you can try with the pin layout that avinash has used in his cable.

The pin layout can be seen on the PCB in the last page.
Try it out. Who knows? You may get lucky.
But put a 150Ω series resistor for each wire to prevent any damage in case of wrong connections.

The pics youve posted doesnt help anyone, Please open up the serial port connector as that might be having a circuit inside it. People might here recognize the circuit and tell you about the software.

Why not ask where you bought it from which programmer is it for.

It can damage ur serial port !!!

i succeded,i found out the pinouts and successfully implemented the hello world blink led program in my ATmega8 its working
