hi guys!

Im planing to build an line follower bot by just using the L293 IC. I'm thinking of using two ir sensor modules for sensing the line. But the l293 chip has two inputs for each motor. So i must use four sensor modules for sensing the line? Is this the correct way?

First of all read the l293 datasheet carefully...
l293 is a motor driver, it has nothing to do with no of sensor. between sensor and motor driver comes logic circuit..... in most cases PD or PID.... the output of that is given to l293..... so single input to one motor.... no matter how many sensor you use....

i read the data sheet and following is my pin con fig.
Pin 1, 8, 16, 9 goes to +vcc and the pins 4, 5, 13, 12 goes to Gnd. pins 3 & 6 goes to one motor say left motor. pins 14 & 11 goes to right motor. so i give the output of one sensor to pin 2 and the other sensor to pin 15. Is sthis correct?

and what are the functions of the pins 7 & 10??
