View Full Version : how to give input to PIC 16F84

Hey guys,
How do u give input to a PIC. Should we connect the positive voltage directly to the pin designated as input after setting it in the program. or should we do with some resistor connected or something else. Actually i have to include a switch. what has to be done. Kindly help.

This is a pull up configuration..when the switch is open ...the PIC pin is high..
when u close the switch the PIN goes low

Hey ice,
Thanks a lot. I never knew this. I will try this out and tell u what happened. Actually i blew my PIC 16F84A IC. So need to get a new one.
And regarding the IR circuit i asked u everything i did was right i suppose. But still it didnt work. Probably I will check it again. But i am sure that IR detector is not having any effect on my circuit.Anyyway i will check it again and tell u what happened. Thanks once again. Keep up the good work.
