As u suggested I read all solar panel related post and reached to some final points….!!!
(fpr techfest)Max area should be 150sqcm hence I will choose 6V/300ma (1.8w)which has exact 150sqcm area. (I’m still oscillating with 4V/400ma panel which have 136.5sqcm) and a dc motor (4V/25ma) (is this OK)
Till now I was thinking that a simple parallel connection of motor, capacitor and solar panel will work (?) but there is one more thing i.e. SOLAR ENGINE.
There are lots of solar engines and I really don’t know which one is going to be most efficient?(as u know boat has to cross the a dark tunnel!!)
pz help me!!!

Its water and i think momentum will make boat go through easily ( Its water ) , Though you can use a a simple capacitor in parallel. But if it hits the sides under the dark area you are done for. So put rudder so that it goes abs straight.

Solar Engines take time to charge , So maybe a few seconds might get wasted. While a dead simple design might simply dash to the finish.

what about capacitor value?
