Puppet is a popular art form that exists in many cultures. In addition to the theatrical content, people are attracted to string controlled puppet performance due to its interesting human like motion. Putting aside the artistic performance of the puppeteer, manipulating a string controlled puppet to achieve lifelike bodily movement is a challenging task that involves physical laws and engineering principles.
Thus the aim of our project is to make a microcontroller programmed string puppet which perform different moves according to musically controlled motion of motors.
It has 3 constituent tasks -
1- usage of filter:
Our 1st task is the creation of various filters which divides the frequency range (say 1khz) into various sub-range such that we can assign different motion of motors for different sub-range of frequency.
We are using 2 types of filters- analog and 2nd order digital butterworth filter to extract different frequency ranges.
2-motion control using motors:
According to music i/p we have assigned different moves to our puppet whose motion is controlled by the motors using string attached to it.
3-mechanical design:
It consists of a puppet with one side of string connected to hands and legs and the other end of the string is operated with motors which in turn rotates clockwise and anticlockwise to give different moves and makes audience feel delighted.

This puppet dances to any music all u need is a music player for audio input, it has 9 dance steps and no of dance steps can also be increased.

ny one intrested in this can post their valuable comments

Great Project , Vishnu !!!

Made one a couple of decades ago with an modified 10band Audio Equalizer driving 10 relay coils modified as linear actuators. It was quite a hit at the School Mela !
Can you post a Video?
Good luck & Happy Dancing !!!
