i want to go and buy one IR emitter and detector pair for my wall following robot...the problem here is i dont know how they exactly look like...can anyone post some pictures(close up) of emitter and detector...is the IR detector that i shud use the same as the one that is used for TV ...

Yes the IR Detector used in Tv sets should work fine. The detector is TSOP 1738. I have done a project using this sensor. It costs near about Rs 25 a piece .

tsop 1738 needs modulated signal.....
u can use ir receiver which is simply like a led...
go to ay troniks shop and ask for the emitter/receiver pair.. they ll give u tat and ll tell u which one is wat.

yeah its a dead thread....
but jus wrote it so tat if any newbie surfes through the forum , he might be benefitted.... tats it.....after all we ll suggest dem to go through the articles in the forum..
