View Full Version : Accelerometer adxl202e soldering sneak preview
ok...i just finished soldering my accelerometr..
The hardest part of the accelerometr is soldering it...Since it's an smd component..it makes a life a bit difficult....
If you need to know how the sensor works ...take a look here (http://www.machinegrid.com/content/view/53/111/)
before i put up the page on soldering the sensor ...here's a sneak image preview...

Hi Ice
You hand soldered a SMD component!!!!!cool!
Did you use an ordinary Solder iron...or the ones the cellphone repair guys use....I've been trying figure out how to solder a MAX 152 ADC ( A SOP ) now for months....but didnt adventure with it....coz i wasnt sure how to solder it....
I could use some tips from you!

Great Idea Vikas... :)
haha ..thanks ..
but i still havnt shown u guys the bottom view...
no i did it with a normal solder iron ..twas difficult a bit...
abt SMD soldering ,hmmm... i dont have necessary equipment[like many of us] for it like a reflow oven .etc...
i'll be putting up a page on "soldering the accelerometer" as thats the most difficult part..getting values from it is easy. :D

ever seen the cellphone repair guys....
they use a solder iron thinner than a pencil......
i wonder where you get that from.....if somebody has it..maybe that could work!
i did use a thin tip..got one for 10bucks...took of the old tip and slid this in..
its arnd 1 mm thick..
ok..here's it ..i put up a page on how i soldered the sensor...

Hy, People...
Just looking around for ADXL202E mounting tips.
A suggestion: I have glued the tiny chip on the top of
a TL072, and soldered the ADXL pins VDD, GND, XFILT and YFILT
to the appropriate TL pins, in a buffer configuration.
It is quite handy, for the DIP package is easier to insert
on a PCB, and the sensor (ADXL + TL) can be removed if necessary.
