There are quite a lot of designs for power supplies you can build.

The most simple is the common power supply, which uses a transformer to step down the AV voltage, convert it to DC and feed it to a variable voltage regulator, which is usually a LM317. This is a cheap and easy solution, but the maximum current you can typically get is around 1 - 1.5 A, which may not be sufficient to run most robots.

You may also opt for a SMPS, which is the same power supply used in PCs and mobile chargers. It can offer better efficiency and current output, but is a little hard to build.

Google search for "power supply circuit" for further information

Amitdhiman, you should try and search the forum and or other internet sources for a simple effective power supply
