I am looking for the cheapest programmer for 89s52 microcontroller.
I have looked at the following product, but cant figure out whether this is an independent product or just a converter.
Any insight would help.

Why not work with P89V51RD2 , It only needs a serial port :) ... No programmer required.

I am using At89s52 because i was trained on it.

@ all, is the product in the link alright or not?

Regarding the link pointed out by you, and by the looks of it, it's just a development board.

IF you are not trained on something does it mean you will never work on it? In life ypu will never be trained
for every thing!!!! all 8051 are similar to work on or work with P89V51RD2.

Anways for programming 8051 try http://www.kmitl.ac.th/~kswichit/cheapcable/index.html

it seems you dont use the search option on RI I have found my earlier posted thread for using this programing
come on guys it high time, rather than waiting for people to answer ur question start using the search thread options!!!!

This is my first project after training. I think its a better idea to code some stuff make little projects and then go on the next microcontroller.

Also i wanted to buy a programmer and not build it. Anyways thanku for searching it for me.
I have bought it now!

What you fail to realize is that "next microcontroller" is nothing but the same(while writing a program) as AT89S5x. And with an attitude like " I want to buy a programmer and not build it" it for sure you will never learn the intricacies of the electronics!!!!!
I hate being blunt but at times there are no options!!

I apologize if u felt my attitude was wrong. But you need to understand that i dont have the time to build a programmer right now.I would love to build a programmer but I need things working so that i can finish this project and move on to other things.
