The Arduino site lists all official distributors of Arduino products worldwide. Why don't you try going through it?

You may view the page by clicking on Buy on their top navgation bar.

I read in a post on another thread here that all store in Mumbai and Delhi sell Duplicate Arduinos that look exactly same as original ones. Shame. I would instead buy entuino or induino as recommended by the user: Devta

.. I don't understand the entire problem here. As far as I know, an "arduino" is just the bootloader on the 8 bit uC. The formfactor doesn't matter unless you intend on using shields made for the formfactor. I don't see what a "fake" arduino means. I would rather make my own at home. It is all open source design..

I bought the original Arduino uno R3 today from Lamington Road, Mumbai for Rs 1400.
I think its the same place Mark28 visited. The shopkeeper initially offered the China one, but when i asked for the original, I got one
If anyone from mumbai wants to know... Here's the address.

MAC-NET Technology
18, Shree Ganesh Bhuvan, (Kalpana Bldg), Opp Police Station, Lamington Road.

And BTW on the same floor, same building there's Gala Electronics that sells all the other things that you might need like LED, capacitors, resistors etc.

The Arduino is a microcontroller board that is easily to get started with. people with ideas , who may not know alot about electronics can get about result fairly quickly. It consider of some components that make a full kit for arduino uno.
This kit is designed to get you started quickly and easily on your path of learning electronics. Once you've received your starter pack you can start to play with little or no electronics and programming experience.
There are some trustworthy sites in india who provides these kits but as a user , I refer to this site (https://www.robomart.com/buy-arduino-uno-r3-starter-kit-india)
