Hello,
I want to interface arduino with GSM Modem (http://probots.co.in/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=77&products_id=423). I wanted to know if there are any tutorials available to learn how to use them (programming).
BTW I just want the module to identify an incoming call and give a signal to arduino.
The rest is to be done by arduino.

SIM 300 has a well documented datasheet , You do not need anything else.

Hello,
I got my gsm modem and tested it, worked fine with pc but i am unable to connect gsm modem to freeduino.

Here are the connections

Gsm Modem Freeduino
Gnd --------> Gnd
Rx ---------> Tx
Tx ---------> Rx

Here is the code

#include <NewSoftSerial.h>

NewSoftSerial mySerial(2, 3);

void setup()
{
Serial.begin(9600);
Serial.println("Goodnight moon!");

// set the data rate for the NewSoftSerial port
mySerial.begin(9600);
mySerial.println("AT");
}

void loop() // run over and over again
{

if (mySerial.available()) {
Serial.print((char)mySerial.read());
}
if (Serial.available()) {
mySerial.print((char)Serial.read());
}
}

What could be the problem?

Thanks in advance

I tried, but its not working .

When i connect to PC, if i type AT then the reply comes OK but any other command does not works.
When I call my sim with another phone, then also no reply plus after that i am not able to type anything in the hyperterminal command box.

Hello,

We worked recenly with GSM modems and as a result we make few articles. It is not realy hard if you not make your own PCB that is hard because you have to think about antenna, power supply, logic level converting ans so on... If you use some development kits, than you have to know just AT command set and communication through UART. Here some usefull links about modems:
