Hi Tanuj,

I think you are talking about RENESAS, its the new tiny micro-controller from Mitsubishi....

"The H8/300H Tiny series has been designed to provide developers with a low cost 16-bit alternative to many of the low cost 8-bit microcontroller available today.
Whether using an existing 8-bit Renesas microcontroller or a microcontroller from another vendor, the H8/300H Tiny series gives you the performance upgrade that your application requires, with out adding significantly to the cost."

Have a read here if you want more details ...

Yes its Renesas.
This company was formed by merger of Hitachi Semiconductor and Mitsubishi Semiconductor.
Renesas has worlds largest share of microcontroller market.

The H8 & SH series is orignally from Hitachi, and is the THE most popular microcontroller for robotics in Japan. (I guess 95% ).

The H8/3664 is available in India but not popular in local shops I guess. H8/3664 is still the favourite and at the top list of any hobby robot maker in Japan.

the complete range of cpus is listed here --

The M16, and R8C series is originally from Mitsubishi.

however, sadly, very few are available in India, and that too not easily.

cheers!
