hi,

i needed some information about IR detection and if posible any ciruit using PIC16f84.

I want to develope IR detection module for my PIC based robot for obstacle detection. Basically, it can move arround without bumping into anything..

Is there any other option apart from IR..just wanted to know this

can anybody help..

thanks

Try Sonar ( but its not recommend for beginners )

Any way IR is simple ..... check the tutorials on the site ... to get the basic concept :) . And once you done youll be able to write your own code . Its very simple .

I'm sorry,

but I need to know what types of IR detectors are avaliable i.e to develope detector circuit which will act when there is any obstacle.

rv,
Go o visha and ask for an ir pair[comes for around 14 bucks]

there are 2 ways u can,
one way is a simple circuit to power the ir here
http://www.geocities.com/gear996/sub/circuit.html#sectionsensor

The other way is to pulse the emouuter at a fixed rate say 40Khz
Detectors for 38,37 and 40 Khz are readily available from "electronic" shops .they are the same kind found in ur TV.
it's black in color with 3 leads and costs 30 bucks

The one ine in your TV, with three leads n all is known as

TSOP 1738

real cool....

one application of tthat is the LIRC

Google LIRC and check out... better google WinLIRC

this tool helps you control your comp wif any remote control!!
Check that out..

helloeveryone,
i am building a line following robot using at89c51.
pls can anyone help me in interfacing tsop1736 to microcontroller port .its very urgent.
can someone suggest me a scheme so that i can mount 4 sensors and 4 ir leds such that they can be used for line detection ( the respected receiver should receive only transmitted ir not directly) :?: :?
