View Full Version : motor shaft + gear coupling

Good day every one.

I am doing a project and for that i have got some cool servo motor from robokits(http://robokits.co.in/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=75&products_id=364)

its a very good motor though the cost it high in all aspects execpt the motor shaft.

i am coupling the motor to the load using gear so that motor shaft is not loaded directly.
the shaft is 6mm and has 3 mm bore like all common motor. in my case the load is high and so as the motor torque. it can pull my loads with ease.
but the problem is i am unable to couple the shaft and gear properly. the m3 screw breaks often and coupling is no more.

can any one suggest me some ideas so that i can do the coupling of the gear to the motor shaft ?
below you can see the pictures of the motor shaft and the gears i am trying to couple to. the actual gear which will be coupled to the motor is not shown. its only a smaller version of the big gears. with a 6mm bore so that it sits on the motor shaft perfectly.

only problem is i have bought the motors so there is no way to replace them with other servo motors atleast for now.
any suggestions welcomed.

The Motor Board are often wont to management 2 12V DC motors. Your kit contains 2 of those boards to permit you to manage up to four motors. These are often used for moving your automaton, though do not feel you're restricted to victimization them for this purpose.

The speed and direction of the 2 outputs are controlled severally through the USB interface. The USB interface is isolated from the remainder of the board to forestall injury to the host within the case of a board failure. attributable to this isolation the board should have power applied to the ability connection, from the motor rail on the ability board, to operate. If the board doesn't have power applied to the ability connection then the kit can report that there's a drag with the motor board.
