I don know what is wrong whith my work with l293d... it just wont to work... I need to control motor via serial port... and for that i chose to use l293d... becouse serial have or -12v or +12(dont have 0) i put two diodes before inpout pins.... but it wont work.... is there any ideas where problem can be.... Thanks!!!

Do you mean the serial port or the parallel port..?

serial port.... why?
P.S. when i said that i have put two diodes before inpout pins.... i thought on l293d inpout pins....

Use IC MAX232.. that will convert 10V-to-+10V to 0v to 5v... or in technical terms... TTL logic to CMOS logic....

Check the circuit in the downloads section of the programmer board... the other IC is MAX232 and you can use it in the same config as in the diagram...

But I still cannout make out.. how you plan to use the serial port to control motors directly by using an L293D....

Please Explain

10V-to-+10V to 0v to 5v... or in technical terms... TTL logic to CMOS logic.... ........... I think TTL logic is supposed to be from 0-5V, 0-1.7V is logic '0' and 3.3-5V is logic '1'.

for ttl....
0 to .8v is logic 0
and 2.4v and above is logic 1.
anything in between is kinda 'fuzzy'
