The IEEE student chapter of Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, Nerul, Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra)( more commonly known as RAIT) will be serving up its yearly dose of high-adrenaline robotics at the annual technical fest "Whizion" which will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of August, 2004.

Each year, college students from all over Mumbai and Navi Mumbai flock to RAIT to witness and participate in this event. For those who have never participated in a robotics competition, this is a great chance to get a whiff of what hands-on robotics feels like. For those who have already participated in Whizion or in other techfests, this is a chance for you to prove your mettle against the best in Mumbai ..

This year's competition will be held under a common theme - Robocopz.

In Level 1 ( Manual Control ), your cars will race against time to defeat the guards and knock off the kingpin.

In Level 2 (computer controlled) , your robots will have to carry bombs to a disposal chamber for defusal.

In Level 3 ( Autonomous control) , your machines will kill terrorists, leaving the hostages unharmed.

For those who haven't yet taken part in a competition yet,
IEEE RAIT is organizing a free Seminar on Robotics at 4:30 pm at the Seminar Hall in RAIT, Nerul, Navi Mumbai on the 10th of August (Tuesday).
In the seminar, you will be taught how to build a robot literally from scratch. Information regarding how how to go about getting what you need to build your robot from the famed Lamington Rd. will be provided. You will recieve tips regarding what switches to use , what motors to buy, what tyres will work well , even what measures to take if something goes wrong at the last minute. All this and more , right from the people who have designed and made the track. (Unfair advantage, right?)

To have a look at real life pictures and 3D diagrams of our robotics tracks , have a look at the site for the event :

More information on the tracks, their dimensions and the rules for each event have been made available on the site.

Online registrations are also open at the same site :
