Hi

The lan cards in the market are PCI ( 33 Mhz ) and are pretty hard to interface . There existed an option to integrate old ISA cards ( my friend did it ) But he had a hard time finding these cards .

A lan interface module is recommended.

silly question - what are those modules used for exactly? Can it give the microcontroller the ability to send email or to be controlled over the internet for example?

Hi all,

Anybody know where can I buy standalone RTL8019AS chip......the module from Embin is quite costly. I asked then yesterday.....its Rs.2250 with (10% Discount) + tax.

Thanks

RTL8019AS is not an easy way out - Its a SMD chip which is not very easy to integrate ( might look easy but its not ... my friend had a harrowing experience with it ) .

I will still recommend a network integrated module to take care of the networking .
