microcontrollers are not suitable for image processing ... u will need a DSP kit ... which will be processing the camera frames and feeding extracted information onto the microcontroller.

actually i dont want to capture video

i just want to capture one image

like getting a map of an area

or could u tell me which dsp i could use (shouldn't be too expensive)

is this a subsystem...bcause if it is..you can try the avrcam and the cmu cam2.

They connect to a micro serially.

i think game boy camera is a good option with microcontrollers

cmucam, avrcam are other good cameras

I tried same.

If you have a credit card go to www.ebay.com you can get the stuff there.
search - gameboy camera

Gameboy camera as is not availible and has been discontinued.

What i recommend in Inidan scenario is DCFG aka Dirt Cheap Frame Grabber .... Get frame from a normal Camera which costs around Rs 300 . Had askes rao to do an article on it to show how to go about it but hes busy :) .

ANy how try searching the net if you need more info on it .
