hi everybody,
I'm new to these microcontrollers,so plz.. bear with me.I am using the PIC16F84A and in that i am using the PORT B for inputs and outputs.for that i set trisb values and if in run time i change the portb values will it affect the actual inputs(i.e., i am using swap command).

And if so can anybody help me to have two conditions checked simultaneously.(i was planning to use bitwise operator and swap).

Do we have a free C compiler ,simulator for this PIC16F84A in windows or LINUX.if so plz.. help me with the link.

In the andwf command my 'f' is portb values and w is a preset value.i want to check just the rb0,rb2 bit values and work according to those values.so how to set a value such that the command ignores the last 4 bits and check just the first 4 bits.

i am a beginner so plz.. do bear with my questions..
thnx in advance ...

Hello,
Use bitwise logical operator for changing remaining bits.
