Hi,
I have been learning microcontroller basics. How do i program into microcontroller memory ? What is the cheapest way to get the program into memory.

Well this depends upon which mcu u use. For 8051 u can use atmel 89s series which can be programmed very easily. You just need to connect some wires from parallel port. Google it a lots of links are available.

First u have to choose a microcontroller

8051, pic, avr

in 8051 there are chips 89c51 89s51 89c52 89s52 89c2051

if you prefer a low cost programmer, then u choose 89s51 or 89s52

if you choose 89c2051 u can use Blow It programmer

In PIC

16f84,16f84a,16f628,16f628a,16f877,16f877a

I think best one is ohonsoft pic programmer

For AVR

atmega8,atmega8515,atmega32 are the good ones

use AVRDUDE PROGRAMMER
