hey guys. i have a few hard disks which have bad sector problems with them.
i removed the motors that came with them.now i am interested in using the existing circuitry on logic boards of hard disk like motor controller,the flash ram, and other ic's in a remote contrlled rojects. so if any of u guys can help me about how to go with using these logic boards for my projects .i wud be really grateful to u.

To use these boards, is a really difficult task because they work on ide interface. So data i/o logic is provided through mainboard and os. The remaining thing is searching and read/write the data which is done by controller which is preprogrammed and though useless for further use. Yes u can use the driver ics if u find datasheets or some info for that.

hmm ... I also tough of doin so once .... The latest ones have a single SMD IC ( unusable ) ... Old ones had a few more with some un-usable OTP ROM's .

The only thing usable are - the stepper :) , SMD Caps some crytals etc . Actually ull waste time trying to use it , do something better ....
