hi,
i am trying to make a bot which moves on a single rod,but there is a problem.the robot has to cross three crossings in which two rods cross each other at right angles..
plzz help me asap :(

wow.. nice challenge..

is the rod cylindrical??
Are the cuts through the main rod or below the main rod..

can you somehow put up an image somewhere??

use two pulleys that are magnetised if the rod if of iron or some ferromagnetic material.

Magnets wont hold the motors etc. Plus the high CG will Topple the vehicle underneath(disqualify).
What you need is a 'balancer'. The design will be quite complicated as the beggining is a single pipe which meets another cross pipe and so on. Plus the arm to pick up the 'fruit ' below the cross section.....
You have to make a 'monkey' Bot for this!!!
We are making 2 models for the competition thro' our bangalorerobotics club. Will share some points, if the others agree.
Quite challenging......
