Simple Optical/Rotary Encoder Generator

by vikas on 03-14-2010 at 10:02 AM
Was building a simple Rotary Encoder for the ARP platofrm yesterday. Could not find a simple tool to generate the pattern according to my needs, there were some POstscript based tools but they did not work on WIndows.

So here is my little script to generate it ...

PHP Code:

header
("Content-type: image/gif");

$size = isset($_GET['size'])?intval($_GET['size']):200;
$size1 = isset($_GET['size1'])?intval($_GET['size1']):0;
$count = isset($_GET['count'])?intval($_GET['count']):10

Arduino/Riduino Motor Shield - Single Sided DIY

by vikas on 03-06-2010 at 04:01 AM
I wanted a single sided motor shield which would allow me to control a few servos and 2 DC Motors. All this while allowing easy sensor interfacing. The shield had to be single sided and DIP for DIY.

The shield given below is the result for the same.

Attachment 205

Some Features -

  • Dual DC Motor support with PWM
  • Servo motor support
  • DIY Single sided PCB
  • Easy sensor interfacing
  • Stackable
Ideas for improving it are welcome ...

Just Visited DefExpo Today , All types of Unmanned robots on display. There were live Demos also so it was a good, nothing beats real life .

DRDO too has some really impressive UAV stuff on display, dont know why the forces not using all of it. Also many Indian companies building robots , unlike what i thought. One company from Himachal Pradesh too!!!, never expected that. Also saw PackBot and Talon in real life.

Good Experience in all, pictures say more than words so
