Default about power transistor VERY urgent

    hey guys what you say

i have to use power transistors in my circuit but due size of the cabinet i cannot mount them properly so, i am thinking of chip of the metal heat sink part those which are use for screwing them on cabinet,

SO is there any consequence of it except poor heat sink, i mean is there any change in parameters of transistors

please suggest any severe afterwards, i have to design it within tomorrow (O8/03/07 night) so plz plz ......

Hey! didnt understand completely..... looks like you posted in a hurry :!:

    1. If the problem is the 'size' of the heat -sink, you can mount on the cabinet itself, if it is metal. It is easy to make an aluminium chassis/ cabinet.
    2. Mount the Power transistor on the cabinet.
i am guessing: its for motor drive and minimum 4 transistors.
    3. you need some 3Sq. in for reasonable heat transfer. The square-inch/qube -inch can be reduced by putting a Fan......! The PC fans are quite reasonable in price, size and performance and can reduce the Square-cube-inch condition.
    4. You can also use the Al channels as chassis /framework material, for light, rigid and heat-transferrable component.
( Dont forget to use Heatsink compound and mica insulating washers)

ya Sir i was in hurry that time,

but i mean to say that i have to make the H bridge with power transistors and have to condense the size of circuit as much as possible like i have to put it into slot kind of space.....

so i was asking this :-

what will be effect on transistor working on chiping metal part of transistor body itself

Nothing much, provided the transistor sits on the heatsink firmly. There should be positive contact between the Transistor tab and the sink or the heat transfer may not be good.

What slot??? This may not be good for effuicient transfer!
