Default Which servo motor should I buy?

    Hi all,

I’m newbie to servo motors. I need to learn basic functionality of this motor before putting my hands in some fancy project. Which motor will u recommend for this purpose, it should be cheap though! I mean to say what are the specifications I have to tell to the shopkeeper to get it? And finally it should be available at Metha Brother or Everest Sales, because I don’t know any other shop.

    Thanks

    Hi Vikas,

That is surprising fact, but why it is not available in India? It is mentioned on this page http://www.roboticsindia.com/modules...iki&page=Delhi that all types of motors are available here, so I thought servo motors might also be available there ;-).

You can get servos from here but very expensive, abt Rs.1200 for a 10$ one.

The best thing is to import if you need low volume, perhaps you 'll be exempted from customs duties.

    Hi Jack,

Servo motors are used for controlled rotation, so if u have a need to use them then u can go for steppers or DC motors with shaft encoders. Given the constraints in India, theese alterntives may turn out to be very good indeed.
