    Default Survielleince Robot......................................

    Hi All...............

Well i m in my BE elex.....n i m thinkin of making a survillience robot...........
    General I idea is:

    1. To build a 4 wheeled vehicle
    2. To make it computer controlled using VB
    3. To embed a wireless RF camera on it(camera can be rotated horizontally n vertically too..180 degrees)
    4. To send the audio n video to the PC (actually it works on TV but i m using a TV tuner card to c it on PC).
    5. To embed an ARM (not decided how many degrees of rotation) to pic m place objects such as Bombs,nades...etc....
    6. the communication bet. robot n PC...is wirelessly using RF modules..of 434MHz...."normal"
    7. Communication betn. PC to transmitter module is using parallel port.

Now d "PROBLEM" is  here no where i m required to use a "MICROCONTROLLER".....as Robot movements, camera movements & ARM movements are controlled using VBasic..(i.e. thr PC ofcourse).....n being a BE project v r supposed to use a microcontroller(we hv been tought only 8051 only... ).................In all this dosnt seem 2 b a BE level project.........................

So need suggetions 4 uC usage....n some more add-ons also.........

    Regards,
    Sagar

Who told you don't need a uc.Parallel port has only 8 outputs so how will you control more than 4 motors. As you said there will be two motors on the base of robot for its basic movement.2 motors for moving the camera vertically & horizontally. So how will you control the robot arm.The arm will have at least two motors. You'll be needing a controller.

I suggest you to make it serial port controlled. You're project will get better & microcontroller will also come in use.
    Redefine it your way!!!!

I would suggest everyone to carefully look at the dates before posting.
