    hi all,
    i am planning to use a l293D IC for controlling a motor.I first came across it Gerry's site(machinegrid) and found it pretty simple and i thought i could escape from learning that H-bridge and making my own one. But just now i came across Vikas' thread abt the shoppping cart and he mentioned that l293d is tough to find.NOw i want to know whether we get l293d IC in India??If so how much do they cost????THanks in advance for u all(as i ask sooo many questions!!99% of my posts are questions!please dont mind)

    well not l293d is not hard to find for people living in metros ( Big cities ) but i dont think it will be availible in you neighbourhood radio shack .

    Anyay it costs Rs 125 / piece.

    Hmm...Hyderabad's pretty big..
    u should get it easily

    price ranges from 80 to 125 bucks

    L293 is available in Kharagpur for Rs 95, probably would be cheaper in Metros 'coz the shopkeaper brings his stuff from calcutta and after travel & profit sells for Rs 95 !!!

    Prices come down to Rs 95 ... thats good Seems like there is a lot of disparity here .

    Well..these shopkeepers think we are ametures not knowing the proper price...just dumb first timers...
    when I went to buy my L293 Ds ; they quoted 145 Rs.... Hell i had gone prepared with the prices..
    I just said "go s***w ur self " and walked out....
    He called be backkk..got my babes for 95 Bucks each... :!: :!: :!:
    ...Knowledge saves cash...sometimes alot..

    [ice is still using those 293Ds in his projects since 2000]

    well i bought a L293D today and thatt too from a close friend of my dad.He charged me 125/- for that.Well not sure if tats the correct one or if i m cheated

    l293d costs some 95 bucks in bangalore.
    but the max.current it can bear is about only .5amps....
    so cant really use it for big motors.....

    can anyone suggest an ic which has an inbuilt h bridge
    and can handle higher currents...may be 2amps....
    l293d doen fullfill these requirements
