Can u say me what things i should know for doing that ?
What are the components needed for that and the circuits.I am new comer to this topic.

    1. 2 DC motors.
    2. 2 wheels
    3. 1 glass or wooden bead ( as third wheel)
    4. A toy RF remote control with receiver.
    5. A suitable light board to mount all these.
    6. a battery holder
    7. Batteries not exceeding 9v, for the remote receiver and motor.
    8. An On-Off switch.

    Connect all these together.

    Rover ready!!

sorry if i am hijacking this forum.

I am trying to use ASK A434 RF trx and rcx modules (http://www.triindia.co.in/resources/?p=50) but am not able to establish communication. Do we need antenna's for a short distance of 2 m?
If yes then will a normal jumper wire of required length do ?

    cheers !!!

You dont need the antennas for 2 m. In fact you don't need them to 10 meters either (open air)

You might be holding on a blown up one. Or something else is wrong. As usual, a vague question gives you a vague answer - (nodetails, diagrams...??)

sorry allbits, here are the circuit details.

    Transmitter Side:

    Pin 1 (Antenna) : NC
    Pin 2 (Vcc) : 5V
Pin 3 (Data) : connected to Vcc.
    Pin 4 (Gnd) : GND

    Receiver Side:
    Pin 1 (Gnd) : GND
Pin 2 (Data Analog) : NC
Pin 3 (Data Digital) : Am reading it through a uC
    Pin 4 (Vcc) : 5v
    Pin 5 (Vcc) : 5v
    Pin 6 (Gnd) : GND
    Pin 7 (Gnd) : GND
    Pin 8 (Ant) : NC

I am not sure if i need to pulse DATA signal from trx side. Right now i am just putting it to Vcc and trying to detect if Rcx. detects something.

You HAVE to pulse it. You cant get a signal if you pull the TX side to VCC.

To check the TX/RX pair, hook the TX to a TTL sqwave - say 1KHz. Check the OP f RX with a CRO. You should get pulses.

If you don't have access to a CRO, just measure the freq.

You can see that with no pulses at the input of TX, all you get is junk data.

You can also check by connecting the RX/TX pair in between two serial ports...Make sure there is always some data being transmitted all the time.

Can U be specific on the type of motors and its specification ?
Is there no need of any ics or bread boards ?
