Just keeping you updated , After about 2 revisions of the USB Board going wrong here is a preview of the one which gets it right.

It has custom Arduino Bootloader and Custom V-USB Drivers for USB interface. Fully compatible with Arduino IDE and Shields.



The production cost is less than a single FT232RL .... so its a objective achieved.

Is that a USB type B socket ??? Its look like a type A Socket!

Please use usb type B socket as it adheres to the standards and also ready made cables are available.

It is a Type A . Basically to save on costs.

I also planned of Type B initially but after looking at Robokits and doing some market searching went with Type A , easy availability and cheaper.

A USB Cable will go with the kit.

If people complain ill change it to Type B.

About the USB socket ...

B type can lower the cost because you will not need to include a USB cable as those cables are lying around almost everywhere.

Alternately, the PCB can be made to accept both types of USB socket so user can replace the socket with his own B type socket.
