Default Servo controllers so expensive ???

    Hi all

Ive looked around , i can seem to understand why servo controllers are so expensive Take a look at any Indian online shop and they all sell For Rs 2000 + .

I cant seem to understand whats the big deal is here and why the cost ?

    for say 16 servo controller - Should not be more than Rs 300 ( Mega8 + Max 232 )

Why everyone is so overcharging ???

Not sure. But they are ripping off people.

Take a look at the below link. It's only Rs1000.

There is also the open servo project:

Rs 2000 is a lot.The best way to do it is a group buy. Couple of folks should contribute, one person takes the lead and gets the stuff from overseas.

Mybe someone should build an open source one for MEga8 or soemthing ... Like we had from Seattle robotics for 8515 etc

A 16 channel should do for 95% people.

@vikas: The AVRlib (open source) has a servo control library which uses the timers of the AVR to control as many servos as you like. (With a Mega 32 you could connect 32 servos).

I had a huge laugh when I saw this (clickie)
