the quadcopter (zepplin IV) used in the movie belongs to ashish bhat , one of the hardcore techie from IIT.
ashish bhat along with some other IITans have started their own company ideaforge
you can see the his earlier developments of zepplin at http://ashish.ideaforge.co.in/robotics/zeppelin.htm
and also see his other projects at http://ashish.ideaforge.co.in/
The Zeppelin tied for the first place with MIT's project as the best hovering vehicle at MAV 2008 (Micro Aerial and Unmanned Ground Vehicle Technology), a competition co-organised by the Indian and American Defence establishments.
A fascinating thing about the Zeppelin is the circuit. It is the smallest and lightest among all commercially known auto-pilot circuits in the world. It weighs only 9 grams, and is 1.5 inches by 1.6 inches big. The circuit is designed by ashish bhat himself.
you can see the video of his quadcopter here
and yes 3 idiots is a nice movie

....thought someone peeped into my own life.....
The Quadrotor has provoked plenty of interest among the students, thanks to Ashish and the Vidhu. The movie has triggered many kids into unheard of dimensions- some bad but mostly good.
The last scene has many real-time inventions from uneducated Indian grassroot researchers & inventors, most of which have been patented or are copyright through Honeybee, Sristi & NIF.
Must SEE !!!
3 idiots....one of the indian masterpiece. nice movie.
Yes that was the idea of an IT Student in the 3 Idiots movie named Lobo. but after his death Aamir and his friends completed this job.
yeah i saw that .... it was amazing....!
