    Default Best Oscilloscope

I would like to purchase an oscilloscope (PC based or stand alone). Can you experts suggest me one?
Applications: Embedded development on PIC, DSPIC, Arm etc (<100MHz).
    Budget: Rs 20,000.00

    Thanks in advance

20 k and 100 Mhz is difficult ... also do you really need a osciloscope or a logic analzer. For pricing check this page ... http://www.opencircuits.com/Oscilloscope

I had also bought a high end oscilloscope when i really needed a Logic analyzer.

What would you be using it for , if mostly digital data ... go for logic analyzer.

    Thanks for your reply,
I have to analyze I2C signals, Usart signals, Manchester signals, PWM signals etc.

Go for logic analyzer then , a Oscilloscope cannot really do spi with a 2 channel interface ...

Some recommends according to price -

    http://www.saleae.com/logic/ ( 149 ) ... 24 Mhz
    http://www.linkinstruments.com/mso19.htm ( 249 ) ... 60 Mhz
    http://www.pctestinstruments.com/ ( 389 ) ... 500 Mhz

All will do SPI , I2C , single wire decoding etc ... explore and buy ...

Pickit is a serial analyzer ( not a logic analyzer ) , also for low speed ... I think max 2.5 Mhz SPI .

If you have the money go for 500 Mhz one , Itll handle everything thrown at it.

    Hi,
I have a Tektronix 2 channel DSO 60Mhz tds1002. I had got it for 50K a few years back. Its really good. I would recommend Tektronix for they are good but expensive. HP agilent are lecroy are better but more expensive. If you can wait I might sell mine for around 25K (may be in couple of months as I am planning to go for higher studies outside India).

The sampling rate for these USB seems to be a bit lower as compared to professionall scope (mine is with 1 Giga samples per second)
