Is it for personal use or commercial use. I dought it will work with new Windows 7 and will certainly not work with Windows 64 bits.

PC wireless remotes are available in your local PC walla.

they are still not that operative and configurable and really COSTLY. with the same remote.
With the ir i want to get build i can apply any remote i want.

someone should create a program that stimulates key presses and link up the arduino to the PC (sounds simple) I'm myself have this idea but I'm not much of a programmer it will take a few weeks until this materializes

been ideating on this stuff for a long time but i have less grasp in .net and all so didn't take it forward.... Otherwise i require this a lot...
Roopak you have Induino no .... It actualy makes receiving the Remote data easy .... but i am not able to design the pc side software....

There are projects on Linux that do this using only the Sound card.... but have not been successful in making it work..... Any ideas of making it into a full project...

why would you guys reinvent the wheel when it is already available..
I already my self made Igor plug usb receiver used it with ghost and every thing is perfect.
I can use it as i want.
If u want to do the project any how than Do not go for IR remote go for RF/WI-FI remote the range of which are very high...
This is a suggestion. And please do share.

Still didn't got the quote for my request.. waiting...
