    yes, well i had two ideas one is a small vaccum cleaner that cud clean up places where its difficult for a person...and the other one is the a small camera based robot that cud capture images of a place a human cant go... if the picture is dark then it wud enhance the image and display it..

    thanx...

    hi
    its very simple

    - get a robot or just cut out from a plywood
    - get 2 geared motors and one caster wheel.
    - get one mini blower which is usually used for heat shink or get a pc cleaner vaccum cleaner.
    - get one microcontroller (avr , or pic as per your experience) board with motor driver to control 3 motors.
    - get few ir sensors boards if you want to make it automated or a wireless controller boards for wireless control or dpst switchs for wired control or usb to ttl converter for pc control.
    - get a web cam if wired or a wifi camera if wireless.
    - get some li batteries 20c for wireless or lead acid battery for wired.

    connect up every thing and you will get your bot.

    Are you really doing a masters , then you would have done some research. Also i do not think the project pointed out would be approved as a masters project.

    You need something more serious and bigger and complicated for a masters project.

    My advice is to solve a problem ... problem solving projects are appreciated more than dead end useless ones.

    i will just give a snippet

    i will give a example for uart(serial COM port link may be wire or bluetooth or wifi or etc ) based wired or wireless control that is

    transmiter side (whatever may be pc, remote, etc)

    sends a data say w,s,a,d for up,down ,left, right
    if w
    forward()
    else if s
    back()
    else if a
    left()
    else if d
    right()
    else
    stop()

    where the above functions control output given to motor driver.
    like 4 bit digital out
    1 0 0 0 means motor 1 forward
    0 1 0 0 means motor 1 back
    0 0 1 0 means motor 2 forward
    0 0 0 1 means motor 2 back
    .
    .
    .
    .

    check more about differential drive for more details.
