anyone commenting on shaastra's mining autonomous bot??

how 2 approach it?

2. Dude.. as the map is divided into a white line (2 cm wide) grid and mines are at intersections... So... your detector can be a simple line follower circuit...

you can have 4 detectors.. arranged as the LF robot , here is the link

When all four detectors are positive.. i.e you found your mine..

The robot will move forward only when the line is in both its vertical detectors... As shown in the image below(1,2,3,4 are the detectors... the Cross thingy is a section of the grid. You can keep the detector in front, at a distance from the robot.. to avoid stepping on the mine)

Now if 1 &2 are on then the robot moves forward otherwise.. it rotates till the line lies on 1 & 2.. when 1,2,3,4 all are on.. then the robot starts with its digging operation.... You can keep a counter in the micro to keep track of the mines removed or intersections encountered... and accordingly make your robot do a 90 degree turn at every fourth intersection to get all the mines... it is all upto how thoughtful and analytical you are at programming...

This is the basic idea.. And adjustments on the potentiometer before the comparator have to be made in order for the robot to distinguish between sand and the white line...

3. How about using counters to traverse the grid, IR to avoid obstacles and Electromagnet to remove mines,
as u said, u can have the mine detector sensor a bit outside the bot

How is that idea>?

4. How to solve the obstacle avoidance ..... without the knowledge of the other guys sensor ..... u know to avoid sensors (SONAR, IR) from both bots to interfere. ............. me got stuck at this stage .... vikas / rao / ice please help ...
