    Default line following

get an ir transmitter and receiver working and u r almost done...
have an array of three tx rx pairs and begin with the central one above the line....
use proper algo and it ll never drift too much away from the line.
better if u r using a low rpm motor.
if u thought u r the only mad person on the planet.......u got serious competition here

    Default line fllower interfacing

    hi friends,
i have a similar problem, got my ir transmitter reciever pairs working through lm324 chip
however the main problem i am facing is to interface the ir pair with the microcontroller for line following..
as in do i need to attach an amplifier with the ir pair before sending input to the microcontroller.
my circuit consists of l298d dc moto driver .
    please advice soon

If you have connected LM324 to 5Volt power supply.. that would be enough to create the control signal required (detectable)for the microcontroller...no need for amps.. LM324 is OP aMP... i.e. no amp required..

    check your programming..

if the response time of ur motors is gud, then u wont need a mic.
    u can realize the entire logic using nand gates...atleast theoretically its possible{havent tried ever..}
if u thought u r the only mad person on the planet.......u got serious competition here

there is no need to add any amplifier between microcontroller and l298n, i had used at89c52 with l298n directly and used LM324 as a comparator and added a preset to adjust sensitivity of IR senors and it was woking fine.

    Hi,
Why do you need a Micro for obs/ Line following..??
Unless it is for the experience, its like using a guided missile on a house-fly!
