    Default Microcontroller and RF IC

    Hi

I am working on a project that could communicate with my robot through RF IC ( Micrel TX/RX IC) at 1200,n,8,1 datarate. Every thing works fine only when the receiver IC is connected to UC (AT89C2051) through a buffer (4050). But it seems, RF IC can be directly interfaced with UC. If i try to interface directly with serial port pin of UC, signal always remains high.

Can anyone help me in this regard

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Eskay,

Where did you get the micrel ICs from? Which part numbers did you use?

    Thanks

But there are SMD IC and receiver datarate is limited (I use 1200bps - Max of 2.1kps).

    Default DATA SHEETS

    hi ESKAY,
You should read the DATA SHEETs, with the small print, before following a ready circuit. Logic states have predetermined levels. Also, read up on CMOS interfacing guide lines.
Every manufacturer takes pains to explain their product peculiarities.....in their DATA SHEETS.
