    hi friends,

one more thing i want to know what is the maximum voltage that i can apply accross the terminals of the transducer and the current thru it without breaking it.

    Hey,

The ultrasonic transducers Ive worked with were not polarised. The two leads looked slightly different but the transmitter worked either way. I drove the transmitter with a +10V to -10V signal (generated of a 5V supply with a MAX232). I dont know if it can be driven any higher than that, but with a 20V peak-to-peak I got around 270cm range which was enough for me.
